About Me
Hi, I’m Abby Leora Rohrer and my mission is to help those with trich (and other compulsions) end it.
I began to compulsively pull my own hair out in 1967 and continued for twenty-seven years. In 1994, I ended my problem through an unplanned and unanticipated transformational healing experience. This transformational process is the basis of everything that I teach. It works not only for compulsive hair pulling but for resolving and ending many other long-standing life problems too. I have personally used it to resolve dozens of other issues since I released my hair pulling in the spring of 1994.
I began writing about hair pulling even before I had resolved it for myself. But after ending it I changed my focus from writing about the problem to writing about the solution for trichotillomania. I have been writing and teaching about healing since 1995 when I first identified my dream of helping others to also end trich.
In 2004, I converted my passion to help others to heal into a full-time reality when I wrote and released What’s Wrong With Pulling My Hair Out? From there, I created the complete Pull-Free, At Last! At-Home Healing System at the end of 2005. In 2007, I wrote Why Won’t My Child Stop Hair Pulling? and in 2008 I developed the online curriculum and support program, TrichotillomaniaFree Women’s University which provides a road-map to healing trich to women hair pullers around the world. Keep an eye out for my up-coming book, Stronger Than Steel, Braver Than Crazy!
I divide my days between mentoring students and parents, writing, blogging and teaching classes to a worldwide audience. Healing is my passion and in my off hours I create art which is also focused around this topic.
Creativity was an important part of my own healing experience. I believe that directed properly, positive creative expressions are an extremely important part of every healing experience. Owning our own creativity is our destiny as human beings…the beauty of it lies in the process of the doing. Unfortunately, these days it’s become about product above process. The truth is, we learn so much through the process of creation and individually and culturally we need to come into a greater reverence for the creative process journey.
I’ve got a few other projects in the works right now and will be letting you know about them soon!
