Because trauma underlies trichotillomania, there is no medication that has been proven to be helpful long-term for compulsive hair pulling. Hair pulling is both caused by anxiety and also causes more anxiety in the sufferer.

I have found that anxiety is caused by not acknowledging and finishing one's feelings. Within my online TrichotillomaniaFree Women's University (a totally holistic program), students' anxiety levels have quickly decreased 75-80% when students follow my lessons and consistently work on healing.

I'm guessing that you are male and therefore cannot join my online women's university, but I have other options for you, so please do call our office during weekday business hours so we can tell you about all the choices available for you.

I let stress rule my life and I also suffer from social anxiety. I basically have become a hermit at home. I have a lot to offer, but, I get shortness of breath and start to hyperventilate when I get in groups of people and it puts a pamper on meeting women. Has anyone had any luck with any of the meds that are out these days. I just want to take the edge off not become a zombie or stop being me..
