Dreams

Dreams can be profound.

Hidden within the seeming chaos are gems of information regarding your “issue of the day.”

Consider that each character or object in the dream represents a part of you.  What is your dream attempting to communicate to you about the issues that are up for you to heal in your life?  Your dreams provide valuable clues to working through many issues if you can learn to decipher them.

Intuition

When your intuition speaks to you, follow its advice.

Does it want you to go away for a few days?

To try acupuncture?

To poke around the shelves at your local bookstore or get a massage?

The more you can tap into and listen to your intuition, the quicker you will release yourself from your hair pulling.

The Importance Of Quiet

At times on a healing journey it is critical not only to become silent on the inside but to have silence from outside sources as well.

The most nurturing gift you can give yourself is a day of complete quiet just sitting with and honoring your feelings.

Expression Of Anger

Because you’ve been taught to contain your anger, you’re unaware that what you are holding in so tightly is the cause of much of your emotional and physical distress.

Most hair pullers have no role models for seeing and honoring the appropriate expression of this superbly powerful and productive emotion. Appropriate release of long repressed anger is the key to accessing your personal power and to improving your self-esteem.

Do You Intellectualize Your Hair Pulling?

GET OUT OF YOUR HEAD AND INTO YOUR FEELINGS!

The longer you stay in your head, intellectualizing about why you pull, you won’t move any closer to healing.  Your emotions are the key to your freedom!  Go into your feelings!

Your Personal Power And Hair Pulling

Hair pulling is a metaphor–it’s a signal that you put away your personal power.

You accepted a definition that’s so much less than you deserve. Once you uncover your own hidden belief you will free your power and heal your pulling once and for all. At that point, it won’t be a matter of “if I heal,” it will be a matter of “when I heal.”

Will The Next Hair Be “The One”?

Pull out a hair; slide it through your fingers.

Feel the texture.

Crunch the root between your teeth and discard the hair.

Maybe the next hair will be “the one!”

This one isn’t.

And neither is the next.

On to another pull.

This just has to be it-the one that’s going to satisfy so much that you’ll never have to pull again!

But it’s not.

In fact, it’s a disappointment-”a wasted pull”.

Maybe the next one will be it.

When will enough be enough?  The next hair will never be enough because it’s not really what you’re looking for.

Personal Growth

Healing takes a firm commitment to one’s personal growth and an unwavering belief that freedom is possible.

I had to be willing to experiment with my life in order to see which ideas and concepts felt right for me.  I embarked on an intense period of study, reading books about family dysfunction, inner child work, addiction, spirituality and how people grow through adversity.  Throughout my process I took whatever resonated deep within me and threw away the rest.  I was no longer willing to unquestioningly accept someone else’s prescription for what I needed.

Who Has YOUR Answers?

No one knows more about me than me.

My whole life I’ve been looking to everyone else to take responsibility for me (my parents taught me this).  I thought everyone else had the answers for my life.  Therapy, doctors, etc-everyone I knew or met.  I will no longer look outside of myself for my own truth.

Are You A Victim?

How does your self-perception as a hopeless victim disempower you?

Might the belief that you are a victim keep you stuck?  Are you willing to shift your perspective from being a victim to taking full responsibility for healing your hair pulling and growing your life to its true potential?
